Intro to: Sizing and Grading

Once you’ve mastered your sample garment how do you scale your pattern into additional sizes? In this class you will learn the manual technique for how to proportionally and accurately grade a pattern to create a size run. We will walk through the process of sizing a pattern by learning the role of the X and Y axes, calculating measurements, proportionately adjusting details and truing and marking for the production process. You will leave with the technical understanding of how to scale your single sized patterns into additional sizes in order to create a production run that will properly fit a variety of people. To get the most out of this class it is necessary that you have an experienced level of how to read and work with paper patterns.
